The challenge of the project is to design a Nearly Zero Energy Building hosting two residential units without it appears like a conventional two-family house with its typical symmetric layout. The whole design is based on optimizing both the volume and the orientation within the site to obtain a hermetic elevation on the north street side while opening the south one to maximize passive solar and light gains. The inner spaces are vertically designed by the natural light coming from the roof and the terraces emphasizing the material textures and colours.
